Gender and My Community clubs

Within the framework of the project - SHE’s GREAT! Gender and My Community clubs were established at 5 schools in Georgia.

The clubs brought together 100 students who will be gaining knowledge about gender, gender equality and STEAM subjects. Eight sessions were conducted in each club, held by experts working on gender and civic education. In addition, community leaders from the communities also participated in delivering sessions to the club members. The invited speakers shared their experiences in terms of working and researching gender issues.

The sessions were conducted in accordance with the curriculum developed by IREX.  In addition to gender-related issues the modules cover topics such as: defining a problem, brainstorming solutions and action planning.

At the end of the sessions, the club members developed project ideas that would try to make a positive impact on the development of the community. The club members will be implementing the projects in their communities under the third phase of the project.
