Training in countering violent extremism

The Georgian Center for Strategy and Development (GCSD) organized training in countering violent extremism. the main topic of training was - foreign terrorist fighters.

The online training was attended by the representatives of the working groups of the Permanent Interagency Commission on Elaboration of the National Counterterrorism Strategy (CNCS).

The objectives of the fourth module were to study models of return and reintegration of people associated with violent extremism, to explore approaches to deradicalization, removal, and rehabilitation, and to discuss repatriation and reintegration processes and the best practices for structuring the reintegration approach.

The training lasted for three days and was conducted by an international expert on Counter-Terrorism and Violent Extremism - William B. Farrell.  

In addition, practical work was carried out for participants. Also, they were welcomed to share opinions around the topic and receive relevant feedback. The training was conducted by an international expert on Counter-Terrorism and Violent Extremism - William B. Farrell.

The training was held within the framework of the project "Enhancing the capacity of Georgia in preventing violent extremism and radicalization". The project is implemented by GCSD with the financial support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
