Training for the representatives of the Kakheti region's city halls

On July 28-29, a two-day training was held in Telavi within the framework of the program "Enhancing the Capacity of Georgia in Preventing Violent Extremism and Radicalisation" organised by the Georgian Center for Strategy and Development (GCSD).

The event was intended for the representatives of the Kakheti region's city halls and was tailored to their needs, within the framework of which the specifics of the work of the state institutions were taken into account.

The speakers discussed the conceptual foundations of violent extremism, its driving factors, and approaches in countering it - the specifics of young people and Gender dynamics, role of education and media, involvement of community leaders and families. The attention was drawn to planning and monitoring efforts to counter violent extremism.

GCSD plans to organise similar trainings for the representatives of all city halls in other regions of the country.

The program is funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway.
