The Georgian Center for Strategy and Development (GCSD) issued a second sub-grant in the framework of the project “Enhancing the capacity of Georgia in preventing violent extremism and radicalization”.

The grant was awarded to Journalism Resource Center (JRC). The JRC is an organization founded by an initiative group that works to the benefit of the regional media in three main areas: education, programming, and advocacy. One of the main goals of the JRC is to neutralize propaganda, mostly through proactive action. The organization has several years of experience in this field.

The project implemented by the JRC during next year will cover eight regions of Georgia: Adjara, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Guria, Imereti, Shida Kartli, Kakheti and most importantly the regions populated by ethnic minorities: Kvemo Kartli and Samtskhe-Javakheti.

The aim of the project is to prevent violent extremism and radicalization in Georgia in which the JRC considers the development of skills and curricula for lecturers of higher education institutions around the target community, especially in the regions. Also, to raise the awareness of the population by launching a wide-ranging multi-channel campaign especially in the regions of Georgia and promote the development of critical thinking among the youth.

The project - “Enhancing the capacity of Georgia in preventing violent extremism and radicalization” is implemented by GCSD with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway.
